The subject of the meeting will be:  
  • Property Owner meeting presentation preparation for April 10th.
  • Continue discussion of payoff of Harbor Hill Water District loan.  Q1 2017 ends this month, so timing of payoff may be better timed with end of Q1 2017.
  • Other items related to the sewer project.

Water News

The District has conducted a pilot test on new equipment to reduce the chlorine taste in Freeland water. The Board is reviewing the cost and will make a decision on installation at its January meeting.

Meet your Commissioners

The currently elected commissioners for FWSD

Lou Malzone, President

Lou moved to Freeland in 2003 with his wife, Emyle, and has been active in the community since arriving. His 20-year consulting career in data processing focused on development of accounting systems for the U.S. and international mutual and hedge fund industries.
He is an avid fisherman and enjoys boating and exploring the west.

Eric Hansen, Vice President

Eric Hansen has served as a district commissioner for approximately 10 years. In his day job, he is an environmental consultant focusing on air quality issues.
He and his family have lived on Whidbey Island since 1988. He enjoys rowing, sailing and music.

John Brunke, Secretary/Treasurer

John Brunke is a registered professional electrical engineer with over 40 years of experience in high voltage transmission and electric utility planning.
John and his wife Chelle moved to Freeland in 2005 when John retired. Since then he has been a part time consulting engineer. John loves life, painting, gardening, hiking with his dog, fishing, and especially his wife Chelle. They have travelled the world and continue to enjoy exploring new places. They also enjoy sailing their boat with their friends.
What few know about John? He has a black belt and was a Tai Chi instructor.
